Maarten Maartensz gave a comprehensive review of "Gödel for the masses",
and concluded:

Hm. Perhaps it would be useful to precise "no knowledge of formal logic 
techniques or theorems". But the "clear mind" needed to appreciate Smullyan's
book includes a very strong capability of logic reasoning, the "natural logic"
without which you won't be able not only to find answers to his puzzles, but
you won't understand even the questions...
