Then (unless you changed something):
* you couldn't select text and "DoIt"
* you couldn't select text and copy it to the clipboard
* you couldn't scroll or move the cursor using keystrokes

So it sounds like you just want to make keystrokes not change the text=20
itself.

I suspect that this would cause flashing.

However, I think both can be done with subclasses (or changes to the=20
existing code). Remember too that compatibility with MVC requires=20
fixes on both sides of the Pluggable* hierarchy.
