Alan, I think you need to mention how one can get their hands on the

"Squeakers DVD"

A few notes from the DVD cover:

"A documentary film celebrating a new way of teaching math and science
to young children using computers with computer pioneer Dr. Alan Kay"

Squeakers is a documentary film on the groundbreaking new work in
computers and education by the 'Father of the Personal Computer" Dr.
Alan Kay, and his group of researchers.

Teaching children critical thinking skills through math and science is
Dr. Kay's driving passion. It has fueled thirty years of computer
innovation starting at Xerox PARC in the 70's. Squeak is the latest --
a powerful computer environment used here to develop a pilot curriculum
to help children attain math and science literacy at a very young age..

We see:
-- two exciting ongoing pilot programs in Los Angeles classrooms
-- a first-time Squeak workshop in Japan
-- a number of Dr Kay's Colleagues including cognitive psychologist
Jerome Bruner, musician and humanitarian Quincy Jones, and computer and
education guru Seymour Paper.
-- fifth and sixth graders having fun learning Squeak!

An 18 chapter DVD, produced by a grant from Ball state university c 2002
