Yes, I see now that I need to also select something in the lower left pane.
As a totally new user, the lower left pane appeared to be just further
explanations of what was selected in the upper left pane, and not individual
items that needed to also be selected. Perhaps something could be done to
make this clearer.

Smalllint appears to work as it should now.
