Too little sound engineering, probably. Really, I cannot imagine any other
reason why these systems have a response time like they do on what I thought
ten years ago (when I had a desktop that did the same and with the same
or better response time called DECwindows) were supercomputers.

I have to confess I use whatever comes up when I pop in a SuSE CD to install
stuff, and that's KDE. I have three machines (home, office, laptop) where I do
my work and I don't feel anymore like manually configuring each of them (like
I used to do When I Was Young ;-)).

I'd really really love to see someone hack in window manager support for
Squeak, so I could run Squeak as my desktop and still have access to some
necessary apps (Mozilla, Xchat, stuff like that).
