Looks like the group filter options are not behaving correctly.  In 
particular, "reset all filters"  and "filter by author name" are not
behaving correctly.  This filters the list and makes it seem like "load
updates" is having no affect.  If you have this problem, try opening
"filter by author name" and entering "*".  This should reset the list
display.

I apologize for the need for a workaround, a fix should come soon...
Also, um .. I don't know WHY Outlook horked up the last version of this
post.
