I think that's perfect and great.  It keeps the idea that Squeak, the "base"
version, is incredibly full-featured.

And if it were presented to the new user, as a choice of downloads...
again, in Cee's words:

- kernel - The minimum system that can bootstrap itself into something else
(VM+filein);

- core - A minimum reasonably comfortable developer system;

- base - A pre-configured end-user system.

No one should any problem understanding "what they're getting."  (And
anyone that chooses the (VM + filein) choice certainly SHOULD know
what they're getting :-)
