Though I wouldn't be able to go, I think it is a great idea! Look at how 
much good came out of the old Homebrew Computer meetings. And seeing 
the shaky videos of Forth meetings that Jeff Fox has generously made 
available at his site (http://www.ultratechnology.com/rmvideo.htm) 
shows how valuable this kind of thing can be.

The internet is still lacking in many regards when it comes to community 
building.
