Exactly when I did (based on henrik code) the first FileList 
registration
mechanism I was convinced that the architecture could be used for other 
tools.
So it may be interesting to extend and generalize it.

This way we could have one central registration mechanism. So user 
interface would be easier to build if there is only one place to look.
