Harvesting Process is not working

I think it's from the frustration that he feels. Here is someone
enthusastic about wanting to help, even in response to a call for help,
and he can't figure out how to do it. I've been wanting to become
involved for a long time but it's intimidating to becoming involved in
the process--there is a big barrier of entry for harvesting. At the very
least psychological, and it seems that Peter is finding that it's very
real as well.

My suggestion, and what I was planning on requesting once I have time to
delve into the community here, is to request a mentor to get me started.
If someone who is an expert harvester could take a little time in
bringing a harvester wannabe up to speed, I think that would be a
valuable investment.

So... is there anyone who would be willing to make an appointment for an
online chat of a little time to walk a harvester wannabe through the
process? I'm talking instant messaging chat, IRC, or something like that.

This sort of mentoring process would be valuable, and it would of course
behoove those who have received help to give it, thus perpetuating the
cycle and expanding the pool of "trained" harvesters.

If this is something potential mentors are interested in, it could be
more inviting to put a note at the top of the harvesting process
document that said something to the effect: "After reading through this
document and understanding the process, if you would like, post to the
mailing list requesting a mentor to walk you through your first
harvesting steps".
