I can't imagine how VNC would influence client performance ... My
servers are all running under VNC (but on Linux, Dual 600 MHz P3). This
is a current "top" report:

7:22pm up 29 days, 2:10, 1 user, load average: 0.24, 0.12, 0.09
66 processes: 65 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped

CPU1 states: 0.0% user, 0.1% system, 0.0% nice, 99.4% idle

(pws is the gsug/sqfixes server, comanche runs all our local swikis)

We had a power maintainance a month ago (that's why the uptime is so
low), and I had to relaunch the VMs like 3 weeks ago. I'm not using the
machine for work anymore (since I got hold of a PowerBook), but the
servers have never been noticeable at all even when this was my main
machine.
