May be masochism...
At least it was the case for the patterns book we wrote pure masochism. 
You know
you write the pattern and rewrite rerewrite it get reviews reviews 
reviews....endless.
For my two other books this is more a memory dump, once I write I forget
so this is a good feeling. :)
