Yes.  This has been brought up before, but nobody has actually gotten
around to implementing that yet.

I would say "most recent version of that method not in the package" rather
than "non-package"; in theory you could have multiple overlapping
packages (although hopefully that won't happen much).

It really needs to be done; maybe I'll have time tomorrow.
