Squeak on Solaris

Has anybody had any success running Squeak on Solaris recently? They
may be forcing us to deploy on Solaris at work so I was trying to give
it a go today.

I grabbed the 3.6g-2 VM binary but squeak can't find libffi.so.1. It
also installs to a location that my sysadmin types don't want me
installing to :)

So I grabbed the source. I configured it with a --prefix and with
--without-x. I compiled it with gmake and it worked just fine. But
when I run squeak (with -vm-display-null) I get the following error
about 200 times:

iconv_open: Invalid argument

then it just sits there. I can connect to the port that seaside is
running on. I tried digging into iconv and character sets but this is
all pretty foreign territory for me, particularly on Solaris.

Anyone have any pointers?

Julian
