Your mention of warpblit reminded me of something that I noticed a while ago.  Try rotating (45 degrees or so) a debugger, and play with the splitters.  They don't work very well, varying in misbehavior among 3.4, 3.6, and 3.7b.  While this is hardly a big concern, it might shed light on something that is a problem.
