Rats. I've known Dave for over twenty years, since I was an IBM Reseach
Fellow and he got me my first chance to play with Smalltalk 80 v1 on a
SUN at Yorktown lab. Big guy, big spirit, big influence.

An IBM bigwig once described him to me as "Dave Smith - 6ft lots,
350lbs, does anything he damn well likes". Fortunately for us, Dave
liked to come up with interesting things. Gonna miss him.
