Random bug fix

Ned,

Is the problem in Connectors or in base code?  I have not taken the 
time yet to determine to which code base it belongs.  I do get a menu 
with this fix, but from your comments it sounds like there is something 
missing.  Let me know if I should repost the fix using the proper 
subject tags, as requested by Hannes.
