I tried this with a 3.8 alpha image, but I am not sure that
I was successful.

Here are some remarks:

1. In earlier versions, class Unicode had many subclasses. These
subclasses are still part of the m17n37b-2.sar (in file
Multilingual-Encoding-Unicode.st) but I cannot find them in the
image. Is this intentional or a partial failure of the installation?
I simply do not know.)

2. When I open a filelist and select the file m17n-w.sar
(or a different sar-file), I get the notification
  MessageNotUnderstood:StrikeFontSet>>maxAscii
when i select the option 'open in zip viewer'.
It should not be too difficult to fix that, but my question
right now is: Does the missing method maxAscii
indicate an installation failure?

I will continue to experiment.

Greetings, Boris
