Newbie - getting started using squeak

Well, to make a long story short I had a friend, that attended the Oopsla
conference in Vancouver '04. He heard Allan Kay talking about education and
squeakland. With a great deal of entusiasm I entered squeakland.org and
tryed the tutorials. That's fun and great educational stuff. I considered
using it to introduce It to 130 first year biologist at my University, whom
I teach. The squeakland tutorials end just before "real" programming
begins, so I went to sqeak.org to find some documentation, but the
documentation on: http://www.squeak.org/documentation/index.html was either
missing or not too easy to follow...

Please have a look at the links on the page. Many of them seem to be dead...

Is anyone out there using squeak to introduce IT on University level for
science students?

By the way I fully agree with Allan Kay's ideas presented on Oopsla.
