I think we should go for it. My reasoning:

1. We desperately need a good bug tracker. :)

2. BFAV is pretty good, but it lacks too much at the moment.

3. We use Mantis at Bluefish, though an old version, and it works pretty
nice. And since one is already set up - sure. I also assume that it
would be easy to move it to squeakfoundation.org if needed in the
future.

4. Given our (the community) old track record when it comes to
"decisions" I would rather skip a lenghty discussion on the topic and
just go for it. :)

One thing that *would* be nice to know though is if the db model of
Mantis is "understandable". Given that it is we at least have a decent
option in the future of migrating to something else.

Another very important issue here is to make sure the people committed
here get a saying - the BFAV team. I have talked to Ken Causey on IRC
about it and, well, he can pipe up himself. :)

So all in all - let's go for it. And the best way to get this moving
"properly" is probably to put someone "in charge" of this - anyone
stepping forward? Stephane? Marcus? Michael?

Things that needs to be done by the person "in charge" is probably:

- Act as admin to set up accounts etc.
- Inform us all when we stop using BFAV/mailinglist and move over to
Mantis.
- Adjust swiki pages with info on how to report bugs etc.

regards, Göran
