Not for 3D audio playback, no.
Unfortunately, OpenAL does not have recording capabilities. It's really 
geared for 3D playback..

One suggestion that I and others have made was to use PortAudio as the 
interface for platform specific facilities. The licensing model seems 
appropriate, is actively updated and works on several platforms.
