thank you that did it.

Maybe due to comments it left the old method with a lot of white
space. It won't take long editing this, I just wonder why. The marked
space in the gif is what's left after I extracted the code which now
is moved to calculateXAccelerationAt:acceleration:dx:. Note that the
previous example was shortened for clarity.
