Rio (without traits) has been successfully loaded and tested in 3.8, on 
Linux.

Using the latest Installer from:

http://www.squeaksource.com/Installer

Installer squeaksource project: 'Null'; install: 'Null-Core'.
Installer squeaksource project: 'Testing'; install: 'SUnit'.
Installer squeaksource project: 'Rio'; install: 'Rio-Kernel';
    install: 'Rio-Core';
    install: 'Rio-Test'.

To run the test cases:

TestReporter runCategories: 'Rio-Test'.  <print-it>
