Read your Blue Book; this *is* that standard way of doing it.

How to fix CompiledMethods is not an issue, how to move to using the  
fixed stuff without breaking every image out there and pissing off  
everyone with old .pr file or imagesegments etc is the problem. Anyone  
that can come up with a good plan and some way to make time available  
really should speak up.
