Can you elaborate on this a little bit more.

At least there is enough interest shown here to keep all forks closer
and I think Matthew wrote in November he will try to rebase Cobalt 
atop Pharo. 

Maybe Pharo-core is not "core" enough to be the basis for Squeak 
and other distributions like Cuis, EToys, ... 
So what is the "basis"?

Since I use and enjoy both, Squeak and Pharo I think the main 
question remaining is if we can find a common "core"/"kernel" for 
all distributions/forks and how does it look like...
