Alien always worked on mac OS X (Intel) and win32, but that doest mean it's
available yet.  I'm hoping to do some more integration between FFI and Alien
later this year, but there are other priorities.  I still haven't managed to
integrate Alien and the Stack VM, which means that Alien callbacks don't
work on the Stack VM yet, and as far as Alien goes that is the first thing
that needs to be done.
