What are your expectations?

The github:// repository type comes with Metacello. But it does not
give you all the capabilities of a regular Monticello repository. You
can only see one version at a time and you cannot save to GitHub this
way. It is only meant to download something.

There is no good integration of Git with the MonticelloBrowser in
Squeak at the moment.

You can try the Git Browser instead (from the Tools menu). It's very
purpose is to manage Git Smalltalk projects (which can come from
GitHub).
