I cannot reproduce your issue with this setup:


Squeak5.3rc2
latest update: #19422
Image format 68021 (64 bit)


Can you confirm this is exactly what you are doing:

  1.  press blue button on world background
  2.  press this halo handle:
[cid:66652028-0cff-447b-9600-f0a142d90f8b]

What do you mean exactly with "stalls the Smalltalk"? Can you interrupt anything by pressing cmd+dot? Does your VM react? Do you see any debuggers?

Does the issue persist if you use the rc2 VM version, that is 202002240037?
