Can't you remove it via Monticello? Or will the problem be solved just by merging it and uploading another version on top of it?

The fun of it is that the package cannot be browsed nor moved to treated via web interface...

Btw, my text-based email client doesn't support that character either.
It shows an inverted question mark instead.
