<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>History is littered with the headless bodies of
critics (analysts). They are the messengers people love to hate. It has never
been an easy job.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Everybody thinks that the analyst is out
to satisfy some personal grudge. Far be it from the truth.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Tell me the Theatre critic who ever really has a
friend.</FONT> <FONT face=Arial size=2>If he does his job properly it
should not matter.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have stated time and again that I personally
think Smalltalk is great and I admire Alan an his team for creating it.
The only other language I use now, apart from smalltalk is AWK. The original
"design" team have nothing to fear from criticism. Their place in history is
assured. It is time to move on that is all.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>HOWEVER Smalltalk is not perfect for me
personaly and the group of people that I represent; System Designers.
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It doesn't matter how perfect Squeak is
for the "other Group" who are happy with it the way it is.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have tried as politely as I possibley can, to get
across to the general Squeak Community that there</FONT> <FONT face=Arial
size=2>should be room for several Threads; several opinions.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Of course it is obvious that there are many more
people who will be interested in Lower CASE Program coding: CASE meaning
Computer Assisted Software/System Engineering.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>There will be considerably less interested in
Upper CASE System pseudo-coding but, they too have a right to discuss
design problem without having to continually apologize.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Smalltalk has definate weaknesses at the upper
levels. Even Alan obliquely admits that.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I would like to see them addressed so that
Smalltalk can be what it deserves to be PERFECT.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>So Gary to your question.
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>"<FONT face="Times New Roman">why are you wasting
your valuable time on this list?"</FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am most certainly not: wasting my valuable time
on this list. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I would just like people to go about what they do
best and let me get on with my job.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thank for your curtesy gary</FONT></DIV>
