<div dir="ltr">Terribly, terribly sad. Andreas was one of my heroes ; I only met him once briefly, but over the years of reading his every post he wrote here he seemed like a friend. He was always constructive, positive and practical, left behind most amazing work. He will be in my thoughts, and through the impact of Squeak and Etoys alone he will be remembered for a great long time... My warmest condolences to his family.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.5pt;line-height:115%">At lunch today we -- Bert, Aran, Yoshiki and myself -- first got word (via a phone call from Rita to Bert) that Andreas was suddenly in a hospital in serious condition. Then a few minutes later we were told that he had died.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
