<p>Just curious: #matchesRegex: is defined in Regex-Core as well as RegexSyntaxError.</p>
<p>What are your goals to make changes like this?</p>
<p>In general, wouldn't generic error handling like this increase the risk of suppressing unexpected errors? :-)</p>
