[FIX] [KCP] KCP-0185-SpaceUsedFix ( should be closed? )

should this one be closed?  There's a more recent KCP 185 called
KCP-185-RespondsToCleans... were the KCP items renumbered recently?  I
won't incorporate it for now, anyway, although Ned says "approved" here.

(also, it's hard to follow these on BFAV because some of these were
posted when the BFAV had that unfortunate bug with subject lines, and
the post groups were split in half...)
