It's a fun experiment. Haven't visited for a long time, but it is something to 
keep an eye on. (for people who don't know Advogato: it's a site where people 
rate each other and some flow algorithm is used to create fair rankings - 
Apprentice, Journeyman, Master - of the rated ones).

For the Jini community Dick Gabriel had the idea to use something vaguely 
similar to this: proxy voting. One (wo)man, one vote, but you could transfer 
your vote to someone you trust to make "the right decisions", and they could 
transfer the whole blob to someone else they'd trust, etcetera. A chaordic 
organization likes to exist of smaller organizations, and this would be a way 
to endow each of these smaller clubs with their fair share of votes. It'd be 
less static and clearer to follow than the Advogato thing, although one would 
still need quite a bit of software to administer the whole setup (in a 
reasonably secure fashion, of course).
