Like Craig, I could probably go either way with this.  The point that someone on squeak-dev made about 7 being an ideal number was interesting, since it provides a tie-breaking vote, but then again I'm not sure how often we'll be voting on things.

I guess I would slightly prefer to stick to 6 people, just because Goran mentioned on squeak-dev (in the "Board is forming" email) that that was enough people, and we've already sent out the mission statement stating who we were, and so adding more Guides at this point seems a bit late.  (If we did add everyone doing important Squeak community work as a Guide, we could quickly grow to 15 or 20 people, which would become unwieldy.)

In any case, there's not really a huge difference between between being a Guide and just doing Guide-related volunteer work.  This list is available for all volunteers to post to.  And we're all paid the same. ;-)  Perhaps in the long term, the Guides organization will morph into a different structure.

Also, folks like Cees doing significant volunteer work could be prime candidates for rotating in as Guides as people rotate out eventually.
