There is a "copy to paste buffer" menu entry in the menu of the  
object's red halo handle (in the submenu "copy and print). Then  
switch projects, and choose "new morph..." - "from paste buffer".  
This is in the desktop menu, which you can bring up by pressing ESC.

Alternatively, drag a copy of the object into a shared flap, switch  
projects, and drag it out.  You can (mis-) use the navigator flap for  
that, or better create your own (in the desktop menu, choose  
"flaps ...", "make a new flap").
