we are in the process of writing an Etoys manual. It is not finished yet, you can see the current version here:

Maybe you will find some answers for your questions there. It is a community effort,  everyone can just register with FLOSS manuals and edit the text. So if you discover something we didn't mention yet, you can go and add it to the manual. Please let me know if you have any questions about the manual.
