By the way , I just try my VMMakerEtAl thing, what have AppleScript power
and is working.
You could have access to many OS X external things like select files via OS
X, manipulate images, open apps, send to terminals thins like

Applescript >> terminal

 do script "cd ~/SqueakDevelop

end tell'

So , intalling VMMaker and AppleScript should let you do several interesting
things.
Also John have some MacServices what works fine.
