Another alternative is to create a gitorious account and publish your
intermediate hacks there, and then once you ready, commit to blessed
repository.
In this way you can make anything available, without endangering main branch :)

And don't worry, we have a client for you who can test new
functionality deeply - an Ocean project which implements networking
stack from scratch and it badly needs threaded FFI.
