It's true -- one of the busiest occupations for Magma is to maintain
its two-way [object<--> oid] dictionary mappings.  Dropping that in
favor of a fast per-object #oid attribute would be like dropping an
anchor.

It seems like per-object attributes could provide some amazing
leverage in other domains too.  +1.
