I think all you said is correct, unfortunately.
The only solution I can think so far is what we always do: compile yourself
the library (hyperdex in this case) forcing it to compile in 32 bits (send
the correct flags for compilation). But of course, if the library is
intended to only work in 64 bits...then this doesn't work.
