Eliot, would it be possible to link OpenSSL statically (on Linux, that is)
into the SqueakSSL plugin[1]?
That way the brittle API/ABI changes, that reflect in a multitude of
packages and binary-names across distributions can be avoided.
The downside would possibly be to keep an eye on openssl bugs, that
seem not so rare in the recent time, and release binaries accordingly.
