[Vm-dev] disabling epoll (temporarily)

Hi All,

    we're debugging an issue with a VNC session on a 64-bit x86_64 linux
virtual machine.  To do this I want to turn off epoll support via
platforms/unix/conf/configure but e.g. --disable-EPOLL does nothing.  Is
there any chance we can have such a feature in the configure?  Editing
config.h is a PITA.
