Ah! Yummy. I like it a lot and can actually think of having more of
these - in similar fitting colors. One more on the right and one on the
left wouldn't hurt the site IMHO. But we should of course only use them
for things that seem proper to have on the side.

Hmm, but wait - the standard colors is dark blue on light blue. Which is
nice, even though some people might want a lighter blue in order to
increase contrast for easier reading. The download box has dark green
with light green, quite stylish. Now, what about following that trend?
The link box could then say have... dark orange/light orange?

And while talking about "looks" - the navigation box on the left doesn't
sit quite well with me. The text seem a tad small and it doesn't have a
heading in the same way as the other boxes - which I think it probably
should have. And quite frankly - but I know this is tricky work - the
expansion/collapsing confuses me since it is not visuall shown what
entries have subentries etc. I have spent a bunch of hours on similar
logic in my homepage builder, so I know this is hard. But perhaps we can
at least visually hint that an entry has children?

Sidenote: You can see my implementation of a tree TOC at www.porkala.nu.
Note how triangles expand/collapse without selection etc, quite
intricate logic there.

And:

- Font sizes should always be in ems. It is the only unit that takes
resolution and screen size into account. Two of many articles on the
subject:

- Do check out www.alistapart.com, and see how they do things. Those
guys are PROs.
