Is there a tandard way to attach context menus

Hello all, is there a standard way to attach a context menu to a morph? It's fairly easy to do by checking for yellowButtonPressed and manually firing up a MenuMorph. But it is sufficient to implement #addCustomMenuItems:hand: to get an enhanced Halo menu while #addYellowButtonMenuItemsTo:event: and #hasYellowButtonMenu don't help. Omnibrowser help

Are there some tips/documentation somewhere on getting the most out of the OmniBrowser? The MulitpleSelection browser looks interesting (sort of like the tabbed browser in VisualWorks), but I don't quite understand its behaviour and what method it decides to show in which pane when you move around or save changes. On the same topic, can anyone point me toward how I could add a new item to the class context menu in the OmniBrowser? I want to add a new template selection menu item (like "new class template" and "new trait template") because I have created a method that creates TWO classes at the same time for an Aida application (A domain model class AND its associated WebApp class). MonticelloBrowser question

Hello, could anybody help me to understand, how to use MonticelloBrowser? (Working with 3.9 #7067) I read SBE and it says: " The right-hand pane lists all of the source-code repositories that Monticello knows about, usually because it has loaded code from them. If you select a package in the left pane, the right pane is filtered to show only those repositories that contain versions of the selected package." However, I don't see that happen. If I select e.g. OmniBrowser in the left pane, the list in the right pane is reduced to a local path on my filesystem (the package-cache). But if I deselect all in the left pane to see all the repositories in the right pane, then select 'http://source.wiresong.ca/ob' and open the repository I get a browser containing lots of newer version of OmniBrowser (and other packages). Now these repository browsers always take some time to load and I have to check different repositories by hand to find the latest version. What is the right way to search (and update) to the latest release of a package? Thanks for your help, Christoph

Level Playing Field image compression side effect

Hello... I have noticed that after installing packages (say for example starting with a dev image and loading everything else you need), my image will swell considerably (as noticed both on the disk after saving, and with MemoryUsage). Garbage collection and saving doesn't seem to fix it, but if I re-run the level playing field script, it seems to clean things up. I'm not sure what it's doing, but I thought it worth passing on... However, if you do this a lot (because you mess things up so badly that you have to unload and re-load packages to get things straightened out, which I can confess to on the Beginners List), make sure you do a Smalltalk condenseChanges every now and then, or it will come back to bite you too! Skewing Forms in Squeak V2

Hi, I'd like to skew the graphics of a Form, is there an easy way to do this in v2 ? What I want is to take the rectangle from a normal form, transform it into an arbitrarily-defined quadrilateral, and then paint on the screen. I saw that WarpBlt does something like this.. but it maps a quadrilateral section of a form onto a rectangle.

Downloading the Squeak By Example Sources from the SVN reposotory

Hi all, I'm interested in downloading the sources of Squeak By Example Sources from the SVN reposotory. I see that there is a web place to browse the sources, but there is a way to download all them (and the changelog files) to my hard disk? Cheers, Offray

Problems getting started with OpenGL in Squeak

Hi, I'd like to experiment with OpenGL in Squeak. I found the promisingly titled "Howto - Loading OpenGL in Squeak 3.9" from Jakub Kozisek (http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/beginners/2006-November/001451.…) and followed the directions: * install FFI and Balloon3D from SqueakMap. (I used the Universe browser to install FFI version 3.9.1 and Balloon3D version 0.18.2) * install OpenGL-ckl.4.mcz from Monticello repository at http://www.squeaksource.com/OpenGL * apply change set from http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/beginners/attachments/20061118/… * ensure squeak.ini contains: B3DXUsesOpenGL = 1 * OpenGLMorph new openInWorld. Unfortunately the instructions resulted in the following error: >>> Error: Error a primitive has failed Examining the stack trace the error was in: B3DPrimitiveRasterizerState>>primInitializeBuffers which reads: B3DPrimitiveRasterizerState>>primInitializeBuffers <primitive: 'b3dInitializeRasterizerState' module:'Squeak3D'> ^self primitiveFailed I ran the shipped FFI tests and all tests passed. I'm running under windows using a VM from SqueakVM-Win32-3.10.6-bin.zip and an image sq3.9.1-7075dev08.07.1 I downloaded Croquet which displayed it's 3D world successfully, but would prefer a minimal OpenGL installation. I tried the Croquet VM with my image, but got the same problem. Any ideas? The issue is almost certainly in atRandom: Running 30 timesRepeat: [ | a | a:= (2 raisedTo: 57) atRandom. Transcript show: a ; show: ' ' ; show: a even ; cr ]. Gives me 30 falses. The odds of that are less than one in a billion (assuming uniformly distributed integers). This doesn't happen for 2^56 or lower, and does for all 2^n, n>= 57. My guess is that it's either a hardware issue or something about Random. I'm not clever enough to understand PRNGs, so I'll leave it others to work out what the answer is, although I suspect that for more than 56 bits you need a PRNG that uses LargeIntegers and not Floats.

As I final test I tied the Croquet VM with my sq3.9.1-7075dev08.07.1 derived image, but got the same problem. Any ideas for getting OpenGL to work in a relatively standard squeak image?
