Is there a tandard way to attach context menus

Hello all, is there a standard way to attach a context menu to a morph? It's fairly easy to do by checking for yellowButtonPressed and manually firing up a MenuMorph. But it is sufficient to implement #addCustomMenuItems:hand: to get an enhanced Halo menu while #addYellowButtonMenuItemsTo:event: and #hasYellowButtonMenu don't help. Omnibrowser help

Are there some tips/documentation somewhere on getting the most out of the OmniBrowser? The MulitpleSelection browser looks interesting (sort of like the tabbed browser in VisualWorks), but I don't quite understand its behaviour and what method it decides to show in which pane when you move around or save changes. On the same topic, can anyone point me toward how I could add a new item to the class context menu in the OmniBrowser? I want to add a new template selection menu item (like "new class template" and "new trait template") because I have created a method that creates TWO classes at the same time for an Aida application (A domain model class AND its associated WebApp class). Resources with Monticello

Hi all, how does one work with resources (e.g. image files (GIFs, ...)) used in the application when working with Monticello and in general? Right now I have them on my hard drive and they are read live into Squeak when they are needed. Of course, others don't have the files at hand when working in a distributed fashion. What are the best practices in regard of distribution/packaging as well as performance? User account for squeak wiki.squeak.org

I am trying to edit a page but I can't find the place to create a user account. When I click the edit button in some page from the wiki, Iceweasel (Debian's unbranded Firefox) ask for a username and a password. When I click the history button, I get a list of changes and in the user column I see strings like: ACCF7AF4.ipt.aol.com so this makes me think that the edition of pages it is open and your IP address is used as your username. But, the problem is, I can't pass the user/password request. The user/password dialog says: http://wiki.squeak.org solicita un usuario y contraseña. El sitio dice: "/squeak/*" Something like: http://wiki.squeak.org needs a username and password. The site says: "/squeak/*" And if I click the cancel button it responds with: Unauthorized for: /squeak/* Can you please tell me what is the process to edit a page in the wiki.squeak.org? MonticelloBrowser question

Hello, could anybody help me to understand, how to use MonticelloBrowser? (Working with 3.9 #7067) I read SBE and it says: " The right-hand pane lists all of the source-code repositories that Monticello knows about, usually because it has loaded code from them. If you select a package in the left pane, the right pane is filtered to show only those repositories that contain versions of the selected package." However, I don't see that happen. If I select e.g. OmniBrowser in the left pane, the list in the right pane is reduced to a local path on my filesystem (the package-cache). But if I deselect all in the left pane to see all the repositories in the right pane, then select 'http://source.wiresong.ca/ob' and open the repository I get a browser containing lots of newer version of OmniBrowser (and other packages). Now these repository browsers always take some time to load and I have to check different repositories by hand to find the latest version. What is the right way to search (and update) to the latest release of a package? Thanks for your help, Christoph

Is there a VMware image of Squeak and Apache?

Following on from my question about SSL and Squeak (thanks Lukas and Kyle for your answers - very helpful). I realised that what I really need is a version of Apache which is configured to run with Squeak (or Gemstone), and which already has all the 'bits' set so that I can concentrate on the Smalltalk without having to worry about a totally different system - that I know nothing about. Does such a thing exist? Or, would it actually be a dangerous/unhelpful idea because Apache must always be configured differently for your specific needs yada etc. etc. Ideally, I would like the simplicity of a Squeak image, expanded to include the whole web serving environment. cheers AB

Hi there, New to Squeak and the mailing list. Just had a question was hoping someone could answer. I'm currently following the Laser Game Development Example by Stephen Wessels and have hit a road block. I'm using Squeak image 3.10.2-7179-basic. Tutorial Link: http://squeak.preeminent.org/tut2007/html/ Step I'm On: http://squeak.preeminent.org/tut2007/html/028.html I've gone back and checked to make sure I had all the code written the same way, in the same places (I didn't at first) but 4 sUnit tests wont pass for the MirrorCellTestCase. I get Error: only integers should be used as indices. Now, going through the debugger I notice the error happens when my MirrorCell "cell" hits the code: 'self exitSides at: #north put: #east.' I'm guessing this should be a number. Yet, since I'm new to Squeaking and trying to follow along, I don't want to mess anything up that may affect later portions of the tut. Hi. I just want to find out for a package which methods are being exercised by the test cases and which aren't. I seems like most of the infrastructure is already around (eg in TimeProfileBrowser) but I do not see where to start with coverage. Does anyone have any suggestions? (Of course I am looking at Christo again, but it seems rather heavyweight for my needs.) - on

Image hanging

Hello: I have been having trouble with Squeak 3.10 image. I use this on my Vista machine and XP SP3. On my Vista, I find the response too slow and many times the image crashes. I have to force quit Squeak. On XP SP3 I found that every time I click anything inside the browser window, the CPU usage spurts to 99% and the image takes an eternity to come back to life. Is this an OS issue or an image issue? Older versions do not seem to have these problems. Regards. Prashanth

Hi Folks, Is there a way ask a regex if it matches any part of a string? matches: wants an exact match, and matchesPrefix: clearly only matches a prefix. The best I found was to abuse matchesIn: and check the size of the response, but this is not very clean. Does anybody know if there is a better way? normalize: url | normal re | ... re := '[^/]+\/\.\.\/' asRegex. [ (re matchesIn: normal) notEmpty ] whileTrue: [ normal := re copy: normal replacingMatchesWith: '' ]. ^ normal Here I am collapsing ".." navigations within a URL against parent directories, as long as there is such a match. But copy:replacingMatchesWith: considers submatches, whereas matches: does not. Bummer. --- A second question: I would like to strip a string prefix if it matches. Since this is a literal string, I should not need regexes. But I cannot find a nice existing method to do this. With regexes I must escape all special regex chars: localize: url "remove prefix if url is for this website" self aliasesAsRegexes do: [ :re | (re matchesPrefix: url) ifTrue: [ ^ re copy: url replacingMatchesWith: '' ] ]. ^ url This is supposed to delete all known aliases for a given web site from the start of a url to turn them into local urls. aliasesAsRegexes aliasesAsRegexes ifNil: [ aliasesAsRegexes := aliases collect: [:alias | alias := '\/' asRegex copy: alias replacingMatchesWith: '\/'. alias := '\~' asRegex copy: alias replacingMatchesWith: '\~'. alias := '\:' asRegex copy: alias replacingMatchesWith: '\:'. alias := '\.' asRegex copy: alias replacingMatchesWith: '\.'. alias asRegex ]]. ^ aliasesAsRegexes Bleh!
