Is there a tandard way to attach context menus

Hello all, is there a standard way to attach a context menu to a morph? It's fairly easy to do by checking for yellowButtonPressed and manually firing up a MenuMorph. But it is sufficient to implement #addCustomMenuItems:hand: to get an enhanced Halo menu while #addYellowButtonMenuItemsTo:event: and #hasYellowButtonMenu don't help. Omnibrowser help

Are there some tips/documentation somewhere on getting the most out of the OmniBrowser? The MulitpleSelection browser looks interesting (sort of like the tabbed browser in VisualWorks), but I don't quite understand its behaviour and what method it decides to show in which pane when you move around or save changes. On the same topic, can anyone point me toward how I could add a new item to the class context menu in the OmniBrowser? I want to add a new template selection menu item (like "new class template" and "new trait template") because I have created a method that creates TWO classes at the same time for an Aida application (A domain model class AND its associated WebApp class). Introductory documentation for OSC in Squeak

Hi all, I'm using Physical Etoys in Squeak for Linux (0.7 version) for interact with an arduino board. Other people is using vvvv for their work with sensors. I would like to use OSC for enabling communication with them, but I can't find any newbie documentation on that subject, in fact, I only find on the web that OSC is supported by Squeak and is a nice protocol, even proudctos like Musical Objects that use it, but not many details. Any introductory information on Squeak and OSC will be appreciated and if I can get details on time to make proper communication, even better. I've never written a line of code, but want to be a programmer!

I seem to be having a hard time finding any sort of smalltalk tutorial that doesn't assume I'm already a master programmer in some other language. ...That's not to say I haven't read, and executed examples from, a few of them. I've followed along with the laser game development guide by Stephan B Wessels (I can find a link if anyone wants it), I've read most of Squeak By Example and a few others, so I have explored enough for a basic understanding. My problem is that smalltalk is my first programing language, So I need to figure out how to break a problem down to something I can code out (I need to learn to "scratch-code" in a workspace). Does anyone know where I can find such a guide, or even outline one for me to build as I learn? On another note, I have tried to learn the "basics" of programing in other languages (most recently C++), but now that I've been exposed to smalltalk, it all seems cumbersome and scattered. Where's the source for Squeak By Example?

Hi. Squeak by Example says to download the source code for the examples at http://www.squeaksource.com/SqueakByExample.html . But when I go there I get a horrendous error to the effect that I don't have permission. What's going on? Regards, Rick

Monticello finding a class-side method that doesn't exist

Hi, I was trying to package up some old code of mine using Monticello so I could migrate to a new image (and also maybe take advantage of MC's revisioning, too). When MC got to the "Snapshotting methods..." process, it was choking on a class method that didn't exist. It was trying to get the category of BlSchedSession class>>scheduledShifts. But there is not a single class method in BlSchedSession. That method /does/ exist on the instance side. I tried a bunch of things to find out what was wrong, but what ultimately got me through to success was creating a dummy BlSchedSession class>>scheduledShifts method for MC to find. My question: does Monticello's choking hint at something wrong in my code? Could I be making some errant reference to a BlSchedSession *class* method instead of its instance method? Should I go do a search through method source or Senders of...? Is Monticello reputed to be a code sanity checker? :) Thanks! Tim

moving objects on screen on synchronous mode

Hi all, I have several objects moving and they must refresh their position on screen on synchronous mode. Is there is any way to make something lika a display buffer? I mean, to perform the positioning of objects without changing what you see on the display, and finally, refresh the display when everything is ready for viewing. Regards
