Decomposing Binary Data by CR/LF

Is there an existing method that will tokenize/chunk(?) data from a file using CR/LF? The use case is to decompose a file into PDF objects defined as strings are strings terminated by CR/LF. (if there is an existing framework/project available, I have not found it, just dead ends :-( I have been exploring in #String and #ByteString and this is all I have found that is close to what I need. "Finds first occurance of #Sting" self findString: ( Character cr asString, Character lf asString). "Breaks at either token value" self findTokens: ( Character cr asString, Character lf asString) I have tried poking around in #MultiByteFileStream, but keep running into errors. If there is no existing method, any suggestions how to write a new one? A Preference for the substrings glitch?

The subStrings command walks back when reading a .txt or .html. file that has some UTF8 characters apparently. The File List tool does not show any strange characters in the files which subStrings errors on. Thus I hope the dichotomy of behaviors may be resolved by a preference setting. Or is it just a permanent glitch I must write my own subStrings command to get around? Dan Ingalls called Squeak a sandbox. I think the sandbox needs cleaning.

Squeak cannot write to the changes file....

I've just installed Squeak and started playing with it but it complains that it doesn't have write access to a needed folder /private/var/folders/rz/... I've tried giving full access to all the folders from /private/var/folders/ down but it doesn't solve the problem. Any help appreciated.

Whatever happened to Refactor and Omnibrowsers?

I have been trying to follow Squeak by Example and noticed that both the Refactor and Omnibrowsers are missing from 5.1 and was just curious about what happened to them and why they were removed. I found instruction how to install the Omnibrowser, but it fails. Any help and/or insight into their removal would be great!
