The squeakland.org news page points to squeakcmi.org for squeak sudoku puzzles - I haven't been able to bring up squeakcmi.org for a few days. Does anyone know if it's down for good or not? {waveplace} field notes are now public

Hi everyone, Inspired by the wonderful posts by Mary Scotti from our pilot in Nicaragua, I've upgraded the Waveplace blog with categories, feeds, etc. Especially cool is that our field notes are now public, which really give a feel for what it's like to be there: http://waveplace.com/news/blog/ To read some great older posts, click "Location - Virgin Islands". One snippet from the St John pilot, written by Bill Stelzer: --- One thing I also quickly discovered was where fourth graders go when they get internet access. YouTube. Specifically, Soulja Boy as interpreted by Alvin and the Chipmunks. Sadly they learned that the XO doesn't play flash videos, so after much experimentation, much of the class migrated to the school computer where they staged an impromptu hip hop concert. One exception though was Tracy, who was just staring at the Google home page on her XO. As I walked over to her, she said to me, "I want to see it." "What do you mean?" I asked. "The whole world, I want to see it." I told her she was already looking at it. That all she had to do was type it in. She didn't really believe me, so I asked her what she wanted to know about. She said New Jersey, so I said okay just type it in. Thought it was a bit strange as she entered it, but I didn't say anything. When the results for New Jersey came up, I showed her how to work Google images, to see pictures of New Jersey. This is what we're using in Haiti and Nicaragua (with bilingual mentors) and what we used in Florida. At this point, we just have screencasts and a workbook detailing the points to cover in each lesson (text is on the lesson pages). We will have completely new screencasts, a teacher textbook, and student workbook this fall. {waveplace} florida pilot finish & nicaragua pilot begins

Last week, Waveplace finished our pilot in Immokalee, Florida. We're using Spanish- keyboard XOs and solar panels this time, since the school has no electricity. Our three Waveplace mentors flew in last night and will begin teaching the teachers today.
