Bruno,

I have run into problems with Event Theatre as well.  One thing that usually works is if I slow down my mouse movements,  I believe Event Theater works by periodically capturing information and if you move your mouse too fast, it could miss a key movement and throw off the replay.

Hi all,

I am trying to do some "step by step" tutorial using the event theatre. It works fine to create it, and then it plays well for a little time, then goes "bugged". Is there a possible solution for that?

I do remember some discussion about this, but did not find a solution now, in this case then I would kindly ask you guys for a link ;)

all the best,

bruno

The education team is meeting every Thursday. Here are the notes from today.

Randy shared his impressions from Squeakfest:
- Squeakfest Uruguay was best because of the workshops, where one can interact with the participants.
- we got books from Ceibal about their view on education, which are very interesting and insightful
- in one of the presentations we learned that about 90% of all XO laptops are delivered in south america
- there was a group of students (12-15 years old) from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, who worked with Bruno Sperb. With the help of Bruno and their teachers, they created learning games for younger children. They presented their ideas at Squeakfest and it was very impressive what they did and how they did the presentation [1].

Rita reported, to Avigails questions:
- Etoys is being used in schools in Uruguay and Argentina, there have been teachers conducting Etoys workshops, in the discussions we had both, people new to Etoys or people with experience. What we had all the time were very enthusiastic and energetic teachers, who are looking forward to use Etoys in their classrooms.
- A new branch of Plan Ceibal is taking care of the primary schools. Lidia Barboza is heading this effort and she is planning to spread Etoys around all the schools. It is impressive that the construcionist ideas are well received by her and her group. We will stay in contact and work together on evaluations.

Kathleen showed us a short video about Etoys, soon to be found on EtoysIllinois. We'll figure out how to put it on our website.

Steve is trying something new with his students: a session in google hangout. The students code at home, then show him the code using screen sharing and explain what they did. Steve will also help them find bugs and testing via screen sharing. Sounds interesting!
